BoostEcom Spy on Chrome
The BoostEcom panel in your browser. Open a store and it reads it in your tab, then send a piece of the page to @Atlas when you want help on it.
BoostEcom Spy is the BoostEcom Chrome extension. Its panel reads the store in the tab you have open, and it is the shortest way to bring a live page into a conversation with @Atlas.
Prerequisites
Before you start
- A BoostEcom account with a store connected (sign up free). An analysis always runs on behalf of a store of your account, so the panel needs one.
- Chrome, or another browser that installs extensions from the Chrome Web Store.
Step 1
Install and pin BoostEcom Spy
Open the BoostEcom Spy listing on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome. Chrome shows the permissions the extension asks for before you confirm: read them there, the store listing is where the current ones live.
Then pin it: open the extensions menu in the toolbar and click the pin next to BoostEcom Spy, so its icon stays one click away. The install page shows the same three steps.
Step 2
Connect your account
Open the panel from the toolbar icon and connect your BoostEcom account from it. If you do not have one yet, create it first and connect a store: the Free plan is enough to start.
Step 3
Open a store and read it
Go to any storefront. The panel reads it in your tab: first what the page itself exposes, then the public record BoostEcom already holds on that store's domain, when there is one.
When there is none yet, the panel asks BoostEcom to analyse the store. The request carries the store's domain and nothing from the page, and the analysis keeps running on our side even if you close the tab.
Step 4
Send an element to @Atlas
Keep a BoostEcom tab open on your store. An element you send from the panel lands in the @Atlas chat of that tab as an attachment: the page URL, the element's CSS selector, its text and its HTML. BoostEcom also saves it as a note on the store you have open, so @Atlas still has it on the next turn of the conversation.
Then ask for what you need. Asks that work well:
- Copy rewrites: "rewrite this heading in three tones".
- Accessibility checks: "what is wrong with the alt text and the heading order in this section?"
- Section comparisons: send a section of your store and the same section of a competitor's, then ask which one is clearer and why.
Privacy
What it sends, and what it keeps
- An analysis sends a domain. The request names the store's domain and the store of your account it runs for. It never carries the page you are on, your cookies or your browsing path.
- Your saved list syncs as metadata. The stores and ads you keep in the extension reach your account without screenshots, cookies or form contents.
- The panel reads public records only. A store kept out of the public index is not shown.
- An element travels only when you send it, through your own BoostEcom tab.
