Read from the theme's files

Every name and count on these pages comes from the files of version 1.0.8: 64 blocks, 23 sections, 20 templates. A new version of Helm updates these pages with it.

What Helm is

A theme for brands that sell directly to their customers, with pages laid out to lead a visitor to the cart.

  • Built on Skeleton. Helm starts from Skeleton, Shopify's open source starter theme, and follows Shopify's current theme architecture throughout: JSON templates, theme blocks, section groups and color schemes.
  • One section, many blocks. Pages are composed in one universal section, Canvas, from 64 theme blocks. Container blocks such as Columns, Tabs and Accordion hold other blocks.
  • Templates laid out as a funnel. The home page starts with a hero, a stats row, how it works, collection cards, a FAQ and a call to action. Under the product, the product page adds complementary products, a row of selling points, a guarantee, related products, a FAQ and a sticky add to cart bar.
  • Landing pages for campaigns. The advertorial and lead magnet templates use a landing layout with a minimal header and footer, and can be kept out of search automatically.
  • Shopify features first. Visitor consent comes from Shopify's Customer Privacy API, tracking from Customer events, and sign-in from Shopify's customer accounts.

Presets

Version 1.0.8 ships one theme preset, named Helm, and 12 presets of the Canvas section.

Where to get Helm

Helm is distributed through the Shopify Theme Store only. The Theme Store handles its price, its purchase and its license: this site does not sell it.

What Helm does not do

What the theme leaves to Shopify, to apps or to you.

  • No tracking code. The theme adds no analytics or advertising script. Pixels connect through Shopify's Customer events or their own apps.
  • No popups or app features of its own. Popups, email flows and back in stock alerts come from apps, which plug in through app blocks.
  • No customer account templates. Shopify hosts customer accounts, and the account icon in the header opens sign-in.
  • No discount code field. Customers enter discount codes at checkout. The cart lists the discounts already applied.
  • Editor labels in English. The theme editor shows Helm's settings in English, whatever the admin language. The storefront text ships in English, French, Spanish and German.
  • No service in the price. Support answers questions about the theme and fixes its bugs. Customization and setup work are not included.
